6 Essentials for Maternity Activewear

Finding comfortable and flattering maternity wear can be extremely difficult. There are so many new things to adapt to and learn during pregnancy including your constantly changing body. In the first trimester I could get away with wearing my normal athletic clothes for workouts. Going into the second trimester, I decided to invest in some maternity activewear as my old clothes were uncomfortable and am so glad I did! Luckily since working at home during the pandemic I’ve gotten away with having to purchase mostly maternity activewear and wanted to share my favorites that I’ve been wearing on repeat for my fellow mamas-to-be. These are the pieces are worth the investment for pregnancy and postpartum:

1. Senita Bumpin Tank

These are my most worn maternity tops and are a definite staple! They are the perfect length and have side ruching to grow with your bump. I started wearing these in the beginning of the second trimester and they have grown with my bump into the third trimester. They also have 6 colors available. Shop it here with code “JESSICA15”.

  • True to size, pre-shrunk
  • Side ruching
  • Racerback

2. P’tula Bare Leggings and Shorts

This material is just….wow. SO COMFY! If you are going to purchase any non-maternity activewear, these are the ones! The material is incredibly soft and stretchy so they will fit post-pregnancy as well. I purchased these at 29 weeks and they fit perfectly. I got the Bare leggings in my normal size small and sized up to a medium in the Bare shorts. They are worth every penny. Plus the deep blue color is beautiful! Shop it here,

  • Best for lounging or low impact exercise
  • True to size
  • Flattering on the booty

3. Senita Lux Leggings

If I had to choose one pair of maternity leggings specifically for workouts, these are it. They have a sculpting fabric with POCKETS! I didn’t know how much I love having pockets in leggings but it fits my phone perfectly without it falling out. I got these at the beginning of my first trimester and the belly panel has grown with my bump wonderfully. Plus they are the most reasonably priced maternity leggings I’ve found! Shop it here with code “JESSICA15”.

  • Over the belly panel
  • Scooped back
  • True to size
  • Pockets

4. Modern Eternity Maternity Active Bra

My regular bras became incredibly uncomfortable during the second trimester now that my boobs grew multiple sizes! I actually got sent this bra in a Stitchfix box and couldn’t take it off once I tried it on. I ended up purchasing more because of how comfortable they are. Shop it here.

  • Seamless and wire free with light padding.
  • Easy to use nursing clips
  • Drop down cups for easy-access breastfeeding
  • Racerback

5. Hylete Luna Bra

I have also been wearing this sports bra nonstop. With the adjustable straps, it doesn’t dig in like my other non-maternity sports bras. It also has the perfect amount of padding and support! Shop it here with code “JESSICA20”.

  • Adjustable bra strap from shoulder to back
  • Removable pads
  • Mid-level coverage with light support for low impact activity
  • Soft and slightly compressive seamless circular knit fabric

6. Senita Maternity Rios

If you are looking for a pair of maternity shorts, search no further! The 5 in. length is perfect and they are only $24. And in true Senita fashion, these shorts have wonderful side pockets to fit your phone! I will definitely be purchasing the non-maternity Rios after pregnancy because I love these so much.
